“This is a tough question… There are moments from every wedding that stick with me. Everything from feeling sand between my toes during a beach ceremony, climbing up a knotty tree to get the perfect shot, teaching grandmas how to Whip Nae Nae [while taking their picture], photographing an engagement session at sunset in Rome, watching the couple’s dog perform the role of ring bearer and flower girl, or capturing the details of a Harry Potter themed wedding. Every wedding has left a lasting impression with me.”

“I haven’t shot anything too crazy, but I have shot a wedding knee deep in a river in Vermont, and also ankle deep in mud during a rainstorm. Those are always fun!”

“My most interesting weddings have always been the ones where couples include some traditional folk dancing that celebrates their heritage. I’ve photographed some amazing Ukrainian, Indian and Mexican dancers! I LOVE shooting in the city so one of my favorite city weddings included shooting the ceremony in the heart of Millennium Park!”

“Yikes…there have been a few! I have had a Star Wars themed wedding! But I find blended-cultural weddings the most fascinating. They usually have the most events happening in the day.”

“Last year we had a 16hr Russian wedding at the Drake. It was fabulous in every way. It was an elaborate and joyous celebration to be sure. We finished photography at 2 am and the party was still going strong – it was quite an event.”
