Wedding planning tips from some of the best wedding planners in Kitchener-Waterloo and London, ON

We asked some of the best wedding planners in London and Kitchener-Waterloo what thoughtful wedding favour ideas they’ve seen. Here’s what they had to share:

wedding-planners-london-One-Moment-bridal-consulting-logo“There are SO many!  The wedding I’m at in Chicago this weekend decided on wine glasses with the couple’s names on them.  We originally were going to do Chicago style popcorn in paper bags but decided to go with the glasses instead.  Snacks in paper bags are trendy now.  I have a couple putting Trailmix in bags with lace on them at a barn wedding in August.”

“For us, we always think edible favours are a thoughtful favour for guests. The reality is, no one wants to take personalized or engraved items from your wedding that will serve no purpose in their lives. We always tell our couples to offer edible favours that guests can enjoy while at the wedding. We also always love to hear that our Clients chose donations over actual favours. A donation to a Children’s hospital or Cancer Society will go so much further than any favour you could possibly give your guests.”

“Word art is a new thing, I’ve seen that you can customize for your wedding for specific words, phrases, dates, it’s a nice way for your guests to remember the day but anything you can eat or drink is a great idea, no one wants favours they can’t use.”

“We really enjoy the more unique favours – something that represents the couple, handmade is always such a nice touch and shows how much the couple appreciates having the guests there.  We also like the edible favours – cake pops, customized cookies/chocolates, and even mini maple syrups.  Donations are always well received and quite often they money goes to a charity that is close to the families’ hearts.”

Kitchener-Waterloo Wedding Planners – meet Ainsley from Fresh Look Design

“I’ve seen so many things, but the trend lately is either to do a donation towards a charity of the couple’s choice or to have edible favours. I really like the favour to reflect the couple, so I try to have it say a little something about them. That’s a gift that your friends are going to take away with them, so if you can make it just a little unique and have it reflect you as a couple, then it because a perfect little tidbit that your friends can take away with them.”
