Wedding Photography Budget Tips (part 5)
Advice from some of the best wedding photographers in Chicago
We had the pleasure of interviewing some of the best wedding photographers in Chicago. We asked them for some commonly overlooked things couples should remember when budgeting for their wedding photos. Here’s what they had to share:

“Discuss with your partner what you are looking for in a photographer and what you love about photography. Don’t try to change a photographers style, find the photographer that already fits that style. Meet with your top choices [in-person if possible]. You want to get along with your photographer; that is sooooo important. Ask questions. If it feels like a good fit you will know.”
– Chicago Wedding Photographer Jenn from Jennifer Jackson Photography

“Wedding photography is expensive. If photography is important to you, you may have to splurge. You really get what you pay for. If you aren’t willing to spend money, you may not get high-quality photos. Do not rely on your friends and their iPhone photos.”
– Chicago Wedding Photographer Stephanie from Bassos Weddings

“My biggest tip for couples is to figure out where photography lies in your list of priorities. Only then will you be able to settle in on a budget that you feel comfortable with. Couples should also remember that at the end of their wedding day, they will be left with their spouse, a dress and their photographs to remember the details of that day!”
– Chicago Wedding Photographer Keren from Keren Sarai Photography

“I feel the budget is important. You should stick to it, or you won’t be happy regardless. Note that in doing so, be sure to understand what you will be receiving and ask questions. If Photography is important to you, and you’re having issues with budget, we offer a wide range of budget-friendly options!”
– Chicago Wedding Photographer Nicole from The Still Life Photography

“Decide what elements of the day are the most important and will have the most lasting value and invest in those areas first. Not everyone has the budget for the best of everything, so you may need to pick and choose.”
– Chicago Wedding Photographer Andre from Andre LaCour Photography
