My tagline is, “Whimsical wedding photography for adventurers and dreamers.” I think that really captures the spirit of my company. I’ve always been such a nut about whimsy and creatively beautiful things.
Editor’s Note: for this Best Weddings in Dallas Spotlight, we had the pleasure of interviewing Dallas wedding photographer Christy, from Christy Archibald Photography.
Where have you been featured?
We’ve won best of WeddingWire the past few years, and crazy enough, have been featured on Seniorolgie!
Why do couples love working with you?
I think the word I get most often after a session is “fun.” Let’s be real, this thing has the potential to be crazy awkward, but I try to give enough direction in posing so my brides and grooms are comfortable. Then, I can get out of the way and let them enjoy hanging out together. Because that’s what this is really about…moments between the bride and groom and those closest to them on one of the best days of their lives.
What do you love most about being a wedding photographer?
I see we’re already starting off with a tough one! Is free cake an acceptable answer?? Kidding…kind of. 🙂 I love seeing how couples interact with one another. Everyone has their own unique story, and each couple expresses their love differently. Whether their love language is silliness or sarcasm or ooey-gooey mushiness, it’s so fun to tap into that and channel those little moments of affection into photos that they’ll be able to share with their grandkids.
How did you get started?
There were so many things that led to me landing in this career, but the roots of my love for photography were probably ingrained in me as a kid. My mom constantly had a camera in her hands, and my brother and I teased her mercilessly about being a “photoholic.” Even though we pretended to groan about it, having those memories in a tangible form was so invaluable. I’m beyond blessed to give others the ability to relive their most important memories.
What 3 words best describe your wedding photography style?
Whimsical, Adventurous, Romantic.
What budget range do you cater to?
At the moment, my packages start at $2400, and brides and grooms can add services to build the perfect package for them!
Christy is an absolutely amazing photographer. We used her for both our engagement and wedding photographs and loved everything about the experience. She is very laid back and worked with us to make sure everything was captured in the best possible way. We especially loved the variety that she provided us; images of every part of the day from a variety of perspectives. She does an amazing job of capturing the moment, from the intimacy of our first look and vows to the fun of the guests at the reception. We could not be happier with our engagement and wedding photos and highly recommend using Christy Archibald Photography.
Christy is an absolute joy to work with and I would highly recommend her to everyone! She took our engagement photos, as well as our wedding photos this year and made everything so fun, comfortable and easy. Our portrait poses look natural and she really captured our personalities and the love we have for each other and our families in the candid shots. She was also really well organized, which was wonderful on such a busy day, so I didn’t have to worry we were forgetting anyone. We got our pictures back even earlier than expected and have received so many compliments on all the photos. I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect photographer and I’m so glad we found Christy! She definitely went above and beyond our expectations.
Christy is one of the most wonderful individuals I have met! She has such a sweet spirit and made everything so much fun on our wedding day. She was great at giving direction and putting us into poses that looked and felt natural. I got the photos back within a week of the wedding, which is absolutely incredible! They are beautiful, and I’m so happy to have such great pictures to remember the day! I spent a VERY long time researching wedding photographers, and I could not be more pleased with Christy and her work!
