Where have you been featured?
Valerie Miller Events has been in the event business since 1999. Over the past 20 years, we have been featured in numerous publications both nationally and locally. We have worked on events with industry leaders such as Mindy Weiss. We have our work published in coffee table books and followed by many on social media.
Why do couples love working with you?
…It’s not just me, they love working with our whole team. Having an amazing team is key to success in this business. As one client recently wrote in a five-star review they gave us “We felt like an important client, but more importantly, we felt that the team wanted to throw us the best wedding possible.” We believe in taking care of people. That can be our client, their guest, the venue manager, the delivery driver, whoever it is, we show the love. It’s not just another day on the job for us, we are all-in with our couples each step of the way.
What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
Knowing the end the result and walking through the process with couples. When the reception is in full swing and we see all the smiling faces and everyone is just having a great time, that is the best feeling. Just knowing we helped them reach this moment that they will always remember is priceless.
How did you get started?
I always knew I loved planning and throwing parties. I went to school for elementary education and after college wanted to somehow get into the business just to see if it was really for me or if I should just become a teacher. So, I started with an amazing company called Uptown Catering out of Washington DC and I never looked back. I learned events through the hardest part of an event – catering and staffing. Learning first from the back of the house point of view, I believe, was key to creating well-rounded events that flow seamlessly between logistics, décor, and service. We understand how each part of an event works and the challenges with each job on an event, so through that understanding we can bring success for our clients.

Planning. Production. Perfection.
What budget range do you cater to?
We strongly focus on full-service events with design.
What is your favorite part of the wedding planning process?
Maybe this comes from my education background, but I love being that go to person/company that the couples can rely on and learn from. Our couples trust us and our advice while we walk through the planning process. I like sharing my experience and using this experience for the benefit of the couple. Couples are doing this once, it can be expensive, and they have a lot of emotions invested into this moment – why not take advantage of the knowledge and experience from a team that does this for a living and that has their back each step of the way.
We had a pretty big wedding. 240 people in Austin (a destination for us and all guests). So we had to rely pretty heavily on Valerie for the preparation. She and Nicolet knocked it out of the park. We hired them for the rehearsal dinner and brunch as well and they executed everything flawlessly and gave us the greatest weekend of our lives.
Preparation was the key to their success. A few months out, they began sending us drafts of schedules, seating charts, and menus, with clear direction on what decisions needed to be made. Her detailed itinerary for the whole weekend kept all vendors in sync with each other. She keeps a level head and was very available to answer all our questions. She even took a call with us while she was on her way to another wedding. We felt like an important client, but more importantly, we felt that the team wanted to throw us the best wedding possible.
Valerie Miller Events is the BEST of the best! They took our vision and made it so much more than we could have ever imagined. Valerie and her staff were there to help me and my family whenever we needed them. Everything was perfect, from beginning to end. I wish I could do it all again!
