I document one of the most important days in a person’s life and I provide them with their first family heirloom. This year I also started offering legacy portrait sessions in my Manhattan studio.
Editor’s Note: for this Best Weddings in New York Spotlight, we had the pleasure of interviewing New York wedding photographer Guy, from Guy Andrew Photography.
Where have you been featured?
The accolade that I am most proud of is being awarded Silver Distinction for Wedding Photojournalism in WPPI’s Annual 16X20 Print Competition, which is the most prestigious print competition in the world.
Why do couples love working with you?
They tell me that I’m the best at what I do! I make them feel comfortable, allow them to have fun, and I shoot the RIGHT moments.
What do you love most about being a wedding photographer?
The thing I love most about being a wedding photographer is the photojournalist aspect of it. It’s interesting to see that no matter how many weddings I’ve shot, every single wedding has their own special moments to it.
How did you get started?
I reconnected with my girlfriend from many years ago (we met when we were 13 years old) and discovered she also had an interest in photography. I was interested in the technical side of photography, whereas she loved moments. We learned from each other, which sparked my love for wedding photography.
What 3 words best describe your wedding photography style?
Contemporary, Elegant, Documentary
What budget range do you cater to?
My wedding clients spend an average of $5,700 for my photography services, which include things like an engagement session and an heirloom album hand-crafted in Italy.
Guy and Jamie are AMAZING. They recently photographed our 140-person black tie wedding at the Bowery Hotel and the photos are phenomenal. Our guests will not leave us alone to get their hands on them! The two of them make a great team – it is clear they are passionate about their craft – and their attention to detail and lighting is unparalleled. Moreover, the time they spent with us was enjoyable and fun. We didn’t even know they were there at the reception (we knew but they were NO bother) and the photos are beyond our wildest dreams. If you are considering documentary photography Guy Andrew Photography is the BEST and I would recommend them 1000000xs over.
Guy is a fantastic photographer. He has an artistic eye and he is so creative. I absolutely love all his work. I would give this vendor a million stars if I could. Guy and Jamie are a wonderful duo to work with. They work seamlessly together. They listened and were opened to all of our suggestions. Guy tries really hard to get you the shot you want. He did our engagement shoot and there was one shot in front of Radio City that was quite difficult to capture with the massive amount of people walking past us (you know…midtown madness). We had to hold our pose for a long time but Guy never gave up and he got us the shot we requested. It was SO AMAZING!! All of our friends and family were WOWed by it. We hired Guy and Jamie for our Chinese wedding banquet on September 21, 2014. They did such an amazing job. Some photos took my breath away and got me teary-eyed. Our family loved it so much that we surprised them with their very own photo albums. Guy and Jamie captured the entire day so well, from getting ready to tea ceremony to first-look to bridal-groom portrait, and finally to the chaotic family portraits at the venue. They worked so hard to get it all. My husband and I are forever grateful for Guy Vindigni Photography for capturing it all for us to look back on. I am super picky and particular when it comes to photography and I can tell you this, you will not regret hiring this photographer. His work is classic, clean, timeless, and photojournalistic with a creative approach. He and Jamie will document your special day beautifully. I look forward to the next time I get to work with Guy Vindigni Photography again.
We are so pleased and so grateful to have had Guy Vindigni as our photographer! I wanted a creative photographer who could capture the cultures and colors of our wedding. I wanted a record of the little things, moments of laughter, our food and the love that went into it, the decorations our friends put together. I wanted to capture the feeling, the nerves, and excitement, the joy and the fun. Guy and his partner Jaime did a wonderful job. Photography is their art, and it very much felt like we had two artists at work, moving through our wedding looking for special and ordinary moments. The collection of photos came together beautifully. Photography was a top priority at our wedding. We live in Connecticut. Our American guests came from California to Oklahoma to Maine. Our international guests flew in from the UK, Dominican Republic, and Uganda. This was a historic moment for everyone. We will cherish these pictures forever. Guy and Jaime made us feel comfortable from the moment they arrived. They were flexible and rolled with some last minute schedule changes. They were friendly and easy to work with, and they had us laughing the whole time. Guy and Jaime, thank you for the hard work, I wish you all the best in your careers!
