Where have you been featured?

We have been featured in many publications and on many websites, including The Knot online, The Knot magazine, Wedding Wire, Bustld, Carolina Weddings, The Carolinas Magazine, Carolina Woman Magazine, The Wed Clique, Aisle Society, and many more. We have been fortunate enough to receive various awards for best in the industry over the years as well.

Why do couples love working with you?

I think we have a very fun approach to planning a wedding. You will never find us in business suits standing in the corner with a clipboard. We are always engaged, interactive, and personable. We really get to know our clients, and as a result, I can speak for all of us when I say that many of our very close friends are actually former clients of ours. Our meetings are not ever in an office, but usually at a quirky coffee house or fun wine bar, or even at our client’s home.

We also come from very diverse backgrounds. I went to school for economics, mathematical finance, and Spanish. Our other planners have backgrounds in film production, literary publishing, marketing, and even dance! I feel like together we create a group that can look at things from all angles and come up with very creative approaches to how to plan, how to handle certain situations, and how to come up with ideas that are unique to our couples.

What do you love most about being a wedding planner?

I absolutely love everything about wedding planning. I love that I can use the logistical part of my mind while still engaging the independence and freedom of my creative side and being social in both aspects. I know it sounds cliche, but no two weddings are alike. Sure, everyone walks down an aisle, most people will do a first dance and listen to a few toasts, but it really is the people who make my job amazing. No two weddings are alike because the stories behind them are so different.

When a bride walks down that aisle, I know how she is feeling, what is important to her that day, and which person she does not want anywhere near the mic that night. I know how she and her fiance got to this special moment in their lives, what they love most about one another, and even what brings out a quarrel sometimes. I can plan things about their wedding that will make the day unique to them, but to me, it’s truly the bond between the couple and the dynamic of the group as a whole – and how I can best facilitate that unique dynamic – that make a day truly special.

How did you get started?

I was going to school for my masters in mathematical finance when I met someone who had started an algorithmic trading firm a couple of years prior. I was asked to help out with the new start-up and decided to give it a try. Not long afterward, a club promotions business happened to fall into my lap and I jumped at the chance to have my own project to take on.

I wasn’t but a couple of months into starting to develop the company when my oldest brother proposed to his girlfriend. Because I was always a planner at heart and was now somewhat starting to plan with my new venture in the clubbing world, they asked if I would be interested in helping them plan their wedding. I readily jumped on it. I had only been planning the wedding for a couple of months when I realized this was exactly what I wanted to do. It involved being social with people and had so many more logistics to pull together than club promotions, so in essence, I really felt like it meshed my need for logistics with my love for the social aspect of things. I dropped the first company and started a planning company within a matter of a month or two, and I haven’t ever looked back.

What 3 words best describe your company?

I would say most would describe us with words like organized, enthusiastic, and detailed.

What budget range do you cater to?

Weddings today are typically $35,000 and up. We don’t have a minimum or maximum budget with which we work, so we really do have a very wide range. We always talk to the couple up front about the differences between our full planning and partial planning services, because a lower-cost planning option might fit certain budgets and we always want to make sure they are making the wisest choice for their needs and their budget.
