Why do couples love working with you?
We would like to believe that our couples hire us because of our personality, style, and experience! As planners/coordinators, we believe our energy transmits and being calm in our company is super important. We strongly believe that a couple’s wedding day is like their love story and that couples should personalize as much as possible. We never push our clients to do things they don’t want or believe in. My couple’s wedding day is just as important to me as it is to them, so I focus on building strong relationships with the couple and the creative partners so that we can have a successful event!
What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
Oh man! I love that I get to meet awesome people, travel, and be a part of a very special day. We love taking a plan and making it come to life!
How did you get started?
Unconsciously, I was already coordinating at the age of 15, while choreographing waltz for Quinceaneras and then coordinating with everyone on the day of the event so that it all ran smoothly! I did that for several years until I became a teacher in 2003 in which I developed my skills even further. These skills include; organization, multi-tasking, teamwork, ability to lead, patience, and problem-solving.
After I planned my wedding in 2010, I absolutely fell in love with the planning process and decided that I wanted to keep doing it so I started my own business. We went from 2 weddings to 10 wedding…today and after 8 years, I execute around 30 weddings a year and have now quit my job as a teacher and run my business full time!

What budget range do you cater to?
Our average client has a wedding budget between $45,000 to $100,000+ however, we believe every couple deserves to enjoy their special day and we can customize packages to be able to work with all budgets.
What’s your favorite part of the planning process?
I love seeing my couples and their guests have a wonderful time throughout the wedding. Call me crazy but I also love the stress and working under pressure. Knowing that this whole day depends on me and my expertise is very satisfying.
Diana was absolutely a joy to work with! We needed a day of coordinator to help make sure everything ran smoothly at our venue. She was so responsive and just an all around great person to work with. She checked up on us regularly leading up to the wedding and made sure we had all of our ducks in a row. During the day of the wedding, she not only made everything run perfectly, but she also made sure we always had a fresh drink in our hand and were able to be carefree during the event. Diana Dorsey at Simply Elegant was simply amazing for day-of coordination services! She went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was a success. We had a fairly complex wedding that spanned two days and required a long list of different vendors, including table and dish rentals, servers, caterer, alcohol delivery, florist, musicians and decor. Diana and her assistant Ivonne were fantastic in making sure that everyone was organized, stayed on top of timelines, and removed any stress from my fiancee and myself.
Throughout the wedding planning process, she was great in providing us tips and suggestions on specific vendors to use as well as general advice on how to orchestrate a successful wedding (leveraging her extensive experience!). Diana was extremely professional, responsive and had an answer for pretty much everything. The second day of our wedding she even saved the day by stitching a button back onto my tuxedo jacket! I would absolutely recommend using Diana and Simply Elegant for wedding planning/coordination services. You will not be disappointed!
