What types of weddings do you specialize in?
There is no particular type of wedding we do….we simply listen to our client’s wishes, and then do everything in our power to make that happen!
Why do couples love working with you?
Myself and my teamwork from the heart. We all love creating amazing days for our clients, so we enter the process very prepared. We make sure our planning is as detailed as possible, to make sure on the day of their event, the celebration comes off effortlessly, with myself and my team working calmly, happily and efficiently to pull it all together. I think the other reason our clients love working with us, is because, I love a challenge, a crazy idea, and any fun thoughts they have…we will give any new idea a try!
What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
My favorite parts of being a wedding planner are seeing an event design come together beautifully in its implementation. I love coming up with a new idea or adjustment in an event which takes it up a notch further than I had originally planned. And, I, in particular, love seeing our clients incandescently happy at the end of a fantastic evening.
How did you get started?
I studied art and installation in college and then consulting in the fashion industry for many years. Somewhere in there, I went culinary school, became a chef, worked for some of the best restaurants in the country before opening my own catering company. After several years of catering, I decided this was not quite it, sold my business, and instead of cooking for parties, I began planning weddings at a very busy romantic old restaurant. It was here that I really learned my wedding planning chops, especially how to remain calm in every unexpected situation, after assisting several hundreds of couples celebrations. After a few years, I partnered up with a friend to revitalize a company that she had started many years prior, and in that time I also opened Bright Blue Events. We decided to take our companies two different directions, I kept Bright Blue and really started building it. Since then, with the help of my fabulous team, Ryan Munsell, Leah Stone, Breanna Lam, and so many others we have happily done hundreds of truly glorious, unique, and heartfelt celebrations.
What budget range do you cater to?
We accommodate a huge range of budgets, depending on the clients guest count and wishes. We’ve done events from $8000 to $300,000.
What typically happens at the beginning of the process when someone contacts you?
Our first contact with a client is a phone or in-person meeting. I love to hear what they have planned so far, and what they dream of creating…this is a time to fantasize. Practicality comes in later as the process moves forward and decisions need to be made.
I cannot say enough good things about Carole, Leah and the BB team. Our wedding was nothing short of a miracle and it would never have happened if it wasn’t for them. Carole was enthusiastic about our crazy wedding venue, and more importantly beyond qualified and capable of pulling it off. We chose a public space that not only required permits and permissions from multiple LA city departments but also required everything from generators to bathrooms to our own security and she handled it like a pro. I trusted every one of her vendors and was nearly in tears when I finally saw it all come together almost a year later. It was a labor of love for all of us and I wish I could tell every couple to hire them because they are the best. Carole, you truly are my fairy godmother!
Carole and her team are AMAZING at what they do. We hired them for full event planning services and the level of attention Carole and Leah provide are fantastic. We had a few bumps along the way with our design vision. Our ideas kept changing, the budget was adjusted, and we switched vendors multiple times. Carole rolled with the punches, always providing us with updated lookbooks and budgets usually within a day or two! Leah is the research and email QUEEN. She handles all your small details like a boss. Seriously guys. The best part about the team is that they are super chill and relaxed. Carole treats you and your family like old friends. If you should decide to work with her or hire her, ask to see pictures of her adorable dog!!!!! He may have been the real star of the team. The day of everything ran super smooth. I was so shocked with how beautiful everything looked. Her team is constantly working but they are never intrusive. They manage to be right on the peripherals, ready to jump in and help and then disappear to make everything flow smoothly again. My guests who did interact with the team were even complimenting Carole and talking about how sweet she was. Fantastic work!!!
Carole, Leah, and the rest of the Bright Blue Events team have our undying gratitude for navigating us through the planning of a 460 guest Indian wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA. They were reasonable and flexible, incredibly responsive, had great vendor contacts, and also worked with outside vendors seamlessly. They handled difficult discussions with our parents with great class and care. They were unafraid to share their opinions but also were willing to adjust their plans to match our vision for the day, and they, of course, had great taste. They were able to remove any stress from the planning process and made it easy to devote all of our time to enjoy our engagement and our special day. Our guests told us afterward that our wedding day was beautiful, fun, relaxed, and intimate. Just the way we wanted!
