What types of weddings do you specialize in?
We specialize in all type of weddings! Personally, I specialize in anything non-traditional, anything fairy-tale, and Caribbean weddings, while Assunta specializes in all things luxe, as well as European weddings! We are both WPIC certified and are working on more certifications, by the end of 2015 we will be Destination Wedding Certified, Gay Wedding Specialists, and Accredited Event Designers!
Why do couples love working with you?
My colleague Assunta and I are both fun, down-to-earth and real. We try to make planning your wedding an exciting journey, while still keeping you on budget and on track.
What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
I love being a part of making a couple’s dreams come true. You truly get to know a couple throughout the planning process, and it’s always so great to see that moment of pure excitement and happiness when they finally see all their dreams and plans come together into one perfect celebration.
How did you get started?
I was a little bit cliché and started planning my own wedding and just fell in love with it. Every aspect of it was so thrilling to me! I also saw how hard it can be, and knew that there must be other brides that would love a little bit of a hand!
What budget range do you cater to?
We work with all budgets and have no preference. We love the glitz and glam of a high-end budget, but are also true lovers of anything DIY!
What typically happens at the beginning of the process when someone contacts you?
We always start with a face-to-face meeting, generally in a nice comfy coffee shop. I love to get to know a client, as well as their vision and their expectations before we all sign on the dotted line.
Melissa was honestly the most valuable asset to our wedding and the best decision we made. She was amazing in every aspect, very organized and made sure our day was everything we hoped for. She was prepared for everything and anything that happened. Not only is she an amazing wedding planner she is also an amazing person with a kind heart and goes out of her way to make sure her clients are happy and stress-free. I could not imagine our day without her and I don’t know what we would have done without her! She is one of a kind and I am so glad we found her and will definitely use her again. Every wedding needs a planner to ensure those final and very important details are taken care of. Thank you Melissa for everything you have done for us!

Jessica from Gurley Events was outstanding! I have no idea what we would have done without her. She took care of everything the day of our wedding. She was always available via e-mail, text or phone and she gave us so many great ideas that made planning so much easier for us. The last thing you want to do at your wedding is stress out with little things, and Jessica made sure that she took care of everything. She was there for all our guests, she made sure that if anything did come up she would take care of it. Our wedding day was the most beautiful and stress-free day because of Jessica. She is extremely professional and she has such a passion for this. She was there for our rehearsal and she made sure that we were keeping up to date with our wedding plans. During the wedding, my cake vendor forgot the cake topper for our wedding cake. Jessica was on top of that and she called them and made sure that they delivered it before the cake cutting. Anytime you need anything she gets it. It was amazing!
You will not be disappointed with Gurley Events and you will realize that it was the probably the best choice you made for your wedding day! AMAZING SERVICE!!!!

Melissa was a wonderful addition to our wedding team. In advance of the wedding, she was very responsive and accommodating. On the day of the wedding, she was extremely helpful and organized and kept everything running smoothly. It was so nice to know that both Melissa and her assistant Poonam were watching out for every last detail for us and we didn’t have to think about anything other than enjoying ourselves. We had such a great time all day because we knew all the behind-the-scenes work was taken care of by Melissa. She was a real pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend her.
