What types of weddings do you specialize in?
I don’t have a niche per se. I consider myself an urban Toronto wedding planner. What does that mean? It means that my clients are Torontonians. They are usually from different backgrounds/religions/cultures. They are young professionals who are tech savvy and fashion forward. Their weddings are usually held in downtown Toronto.
Why do couples love working with you?
I think I have a unique skill set as a wedding planner. My background as an entertainer gives me different and valuable perspectives into weddings and events. Also, I am extremely calm and collected. I don’t get frazzled easily and my clients often tell me that my calm demeanor sets their minds at ease.
What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
I love working with people. I love the unique challenges that arise from wedding planning and I love finding creative solutions for my clients. I love getting to know my clients and their families. I love the hustle and bustle of the wedding day. I love when things go according to plan and I most love happy clients.
How did you get started?
People often remark to me “YOU are a wedding planner?” when I tell them my profession. I suppose being a man I am a bit of an anomaly in the wedding planning business. I started my career as a musician (saxophone) and co-founder of the widely successful wedding and events band “God Made Me Funky”. I started the band when I was 17 yrs old and dropped out of school because I was already making a living playing music. As demand for the band grew I started to represent other bands and musicians. I did this for many years and as a result, attended many weddings, met a lot of wedding business owners and really learned the business of weddings. I discovered a passion for wedding and event planning. It was a natural progression for me.
What budget range do you cater to?
We work with all budgets. Generally between 40-$70k, some higher, some lower.
What typically happens at the beginning of the process when someone contacts you?
First, a potential client who requests a meeting will receive a questionnaire. Following that we sit down and have a face to face meeting where we will interview each other. This meeting is typically 1.5hrs+. Any less and we know it’s not a good fit. We will ask you a lot of questions to help determine if we are the right company for you and if you are the right type of client for us.
My husband and I hired Arthur and the Fusion Events team to help with the planning of our wedding on May 24, 2014. They are absolutely amazing, God sent! The planning of our wedding was completely stress free and every wish of mine was met. My dream of the “perfect wedding” was brought to life, every vision was made real. I would and will most definitely be recommending the Fusion Events team to all the future brides I know. Thank you Arthur for all your help in putting together this very memorable and important day in our lives.
