Distinct Occasions

Quirky. Once-in-a-Lifetime. Romantic.

Whether you’re dreaming about swapping sacred vows in a Buddhist monastery (complete with ceremonial offerings to the monks — and passed appetizers), a sweet and sublimely simple event at your family cottage, where you met your partner in a raspberry patch at age 5, or a Scottish highland fling in your hometown (with matching kilts for the groom & doggy-of-honour), Distinct Occasions is here to help you flow from “I will” to “I do.”

What types of weddings do you specialize in?

Quirky. Whimsical. Super FUN. Once-in-a-Lifetime Awesome Weddings. We create, design, build and celebrate the things you love on your wedding day.

Why do couples love working with you?

In addition to planning your silky-smooth wedding adventure, we act as style-guides & designers, every step of the way. From your floral colour palette to the retro-chic typography on your menu cards, we specialize in impeccably eclectic, and profoundly personal touches with our bevy of wedding artists to give your day something truly custom and wow factor.

What do you love most about being a wedding planner?

I get to bear witness to LOVE at it’s best each and every day. It’s challenging, emotional, and so rewarding.

How did you get started?

I never dreamed of being a Wedding Planner but sometimes the Universe has other plans. I always thought I would be a teacher or work in the tourism field due to my love of travel. I did that. I loved it. But… the Universe had other plans. Every time I tried to go another direction, an opportunity would present itself to pull me right back in. So, I started, after a career planning Corporate Events and Concerts into the world of weddings… and LOVED IT.

What budget range do you cater to?

While we can and do work with all budgets; we work best with mid-high end budgets. We want clients who know that their marriage is more important than their wedding and that choosing what matters doesn’t mean you can’t have a memorable and awesome wedding.

What typically happens at the beginning of the process when someone contacts you?

We chat! We really try to get to know one another and get to the heart of your wedding day needs. We try to ensure we’re a great fit for you and you are a great fit for us. From Planner-Client to friend, we want to make sure we’re awesome together.
