What types of weddings do you specialize in?

I don’t really specialize in any type of specific wedding or style.  I’ve done outdoor weddings, tented weddings, traditional weddings, theme weddings, and even intimate weddings.  I’ve enjoyed each style and wedding immensely.

Why do couples love working with you?

I’m told that I’m organized, personable, professional, honest and friendly.  I think couples feel they can rely on me to take care of them, and their wedding day knowing I keep their interests at heart.

What do you love most about being a wedding planner?

I really enjoy meeting couples and helping them with all the details of their wedding. I love how each couple is so unique, and I love hearing about all their wedding plans and details and helping them bring it all together.

How did you get started?

I’ve always been interested in weddings, and planning parties.  When I got married, I planned my wedding in 4 months and really enjoyed the whole process.  I went through a bit of withdrawal once it was over.  I started looking at courses and found the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC) located in Toronto.  They do in class certification courses across Canada, and I took the course in April 2012.  From there I started my own business, met with vendors, and started getting inquiries from Brides.

What budget range do you cater to?

I work with all budgets.

What typically happens at the beginning of the process when someone contacts you?

Once a couple contacts me, I provide them with a bit of information about the package they are interested in and offer them a complimentary meeting just to discuss their wedding details and to get to know each other. Once they decide to work with me, I provide them with a timeline to stay on track with the planning, as well as a questionnaire to collect the important wedding details. For full-planning couples, we meet monthly to touch base and ensure everything is on track. For day-of couples, we don’t start meeting until 4 weeks before their wedding. But I do keep in touch with monthly emails to see if they need any assistance.

When we had our social there was so much going on that we then knew we wanted a wedding planner for our wedding day. My husband and I didn’t want to worry about anything on our wedding other than enjoying the day with each other. We were having 220 people at our wedding so we knew it was going to be a busy day! If something went wrong we didn’t want to worry about it and we didn’t want our family or friends to worry about it either, we wanted them to also just enjoy the day. Like A Star gave us better service then we could have ever asked for. Amanda took care of anything and everything we needed her too, from having a safety pin for my dress, having water and juice boxes for us during pictures, calling all my vendors beforehand to confirm, timing all of our entrances into the ceremony, going for a tour of the venue with the sales manager so she was prepared, keeping me on in track and giving me reminders of what I needed to get done before the big day, creating an entire itinerary for the day and making sure everything went according to plan, setting out wedding favours, she even helped our very nervous M/C by giving him a guideline of what he needed to say! The list goes on and on. She even had an assistant come with her which was extremely helpful as one stayed with the myself and the bridesmaids and the other was with the groom & groomsmen. I could always get a hold of Amanda anytime I had one of my million questions. She had great ideas and always had a smile on her face. My wedding party had also told me they were very impressed with Amanda’s professional and quality service! I will say after the wedding I was a little sad that our time planning together was over because she really made it very enjoyable!! Too bad I only plan on getting married the one time or I would hire her again! (hehe!)
