What types of weddings do you specialize in?
We specialize in luxury weddings. This does not necessarily mean over the top, super expensive. What it means is that we believe in quality. Whether a vendor or a product, we are only going to hire someone or create decor with quality. Whether your centrepiece costs $120 or $1,000 it will be created with quality products.
Why do couples love working with you?
We pride ourselves on connecting with our couples on a personal level. Our goal is not only to create a beautiful wedding but to create a beautiful wedding that is a reflection of the couple. To do this we get to know our couples through questionnaires and monthly meetings.
What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
There are many things we love about being wedding planners, but if we had to choose just one it would be the moment at the end of the day when the couple comes to us and says how stress-free, enjoyable and beautiful their day was because of our work. Our main goal is to create a wonderfully unforgettable experience for our clients and there are many details and elements required to make that happen, there are no words to describe the satisfaction and fulfillment in knowing we’ve accomplished that goal.
How did you get started?
I started Reflections after my own wedding in 2004 after realizing how much work is required to plan and execute a wedding and believing that no bride should have to do it alone.
What budget range do you cater to?
Budget is tricky as everyone has their own definition of what is high end and low end, and that can even range from city to city. As mentioned before we focus on quality, so we are for sure not low end. We always set our budgets per guest not overall, as a $100,000 budget can seem like a lot if you have 100 guests or not very much if you have 300 guests. We set a minimum requirement of $550 per guest for our couples budgets, some may think this is mid-range, some may think this is high end.
What typically happens at the beginning of the process when someone contacts you?
The first things we want to confirm when someone contacts us is that we are available on their chosen date(s) and that they are comfortable with our minimum service charge and budget requirements. If all of those things are positive then we move forward by meeting them in person, get to know them a little better and ensure that the chemistry is there. Planning someone’s wedding is a fairly intimate process, you spend a year or more working together so getting along and trust is just as, if not more, important than being available for the day. It’s as much us saying yes to potential clients as them saying yes to us. If we say yes to each other then from there we sign a contract, the client submits their deposit and away we go!
Jasmine and Reflections Weddings and Events provided outstanding service for our June wedding. From the moment we met with her to start the planning until the end of the night on our wedding day, Jasmine was a pleasure to work with. She went above and beyond to help us to capture the most perfect atmosphere and execution on our special day. Our wedding was so unique and so “us” because of the amazing attention to detail Jasmine gave us. We would absolutely recommend Reflections Weddings and Events to any couple getting married that wants to have the most perfect wedding. The decor was breathtaking!!! We still talk about how incredible it was to have a sneak peek at our reception area and how we were blown away by how artistic, classy, and unique the room was transformed into. Furthermore, the behind-the-scenes production allowed our whole day to go off without a hitch, we got to enjoy the day and our guests, stress-free. I am SO GLAD that we had decided to hire a planner for our wedding, and even more glad that it was Teal who worked with us! Planning our wedding was a scary thought, especially since we were planning a wedding in Calgary and we were living in Lethbridge. From the very start (12 months before our wedding), Teal had monthly Skype meetings with us to keep us on track with planning. She gave us great suggestions on vendors and made sure we made good choices. Teal also designed our wedding decor, and she did an amazing job of interviewing us on our likes and dislikes and coming up with a design that was so much more than I could have ever imagined. As the wedding got closer, Teal took a lot of stress out of the planning by booking our vendors and establishing an awesome timeline for the wedding day. Our wedding day ran SO smoothly, I didn’t have to worry about a single thing and it was amazing! The reception hall looked beautiful, everything from the table linens to the lighting, to the centrepieces were all perfectly thought out and reflected my husband and I’s personal style, but also Teal’s designer eye. I would recommend Teal with Reflections Weddings to anyone!! Such a great choice 🙂

The decision to hire a day of wedding coordinator came very late within our wedding planning process and had not been a part of our wedding plan or budget in any way. Two months out from our wedding, we felt we had done an amazing job planning our the day but really started to worry about the execution and implementation of our vision on the actual day. We didn’t want to bother family & friends that day and wanted a professional who knew what they were doing so we could simply enjoy all the moments and truly be worry-free. We met only with the ladies of Reflections and knew right away that the value and quality of service they would provide would be of the highest standard. We had no question about choosing Orysia as our Day-of Coordinator. Leading up to the wedding, we were really able to rely on Orysia for guidance and advice and really felt comfortable working with her from the minute we met. Finally, our special day arrived and Orysia and the ladies of Reflections were by our side the entire day. They were personable, professional and took a genuine interest in everyone they met that day. We received countless feedback from all of our guests who were nothing but impressed with all of them. At the end of the night, we couldn’t thank them enough. Words could not describe how valuable they were to us throughout the entire day and really put our minds at ease. We had no doubt from the beginning that we’d be so happy we had the opportunity to work with these amazing women. The best part about them is that they are all so passionate about what they do; from the good to the bad. They really love every part of their job and are sure to let you know that. We would refer Orysia (& the ladies of Reflections) over and over again and although we have no intentions on needing another wedding coordinator (haha), we’d hire her again without a doubt!
