What types of weddings do you specialize in?
I don’t really specialize in any specific type of weddings. I have planned weddings from various cultural backgrounds, small intimate weddings to large elegant ones. I love having variety because I learn so much more and again, I have to use my creative skills in order to accommodate each theme.
Why do couples love working with you?
I am told that couples like to work with me because I make them feel like they are my only clients. I am quick to respond to their emails, I have great décor ideas and I make them feel like guests at their own wedding. I pay great attention to detail and I make sure that all the bases are covered.
What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
I have always loved organizing events, whether they are social or business events, celebrations of life or weddings. The thing that I love most about planning weddings is getting to know the couple I am working with, and creating their vision based on their personalities, their cultural traditions, and their interests. Even after having planned many weddings, I am still touched watching a loving couple say their vows and share their feelings of love to each other.
How did you get started?
I began my career at The Wedding Pavillion in Calgary as an event manager. I fell in love with the wedding industry and then moved onto planning weddings. After getting my IWPP certificate, I opened my own wedding planning business and have enjoyed every minute of it. Recently I received a certificate in Wedding and Event Design from The Event Leadership Institute and I am also a tutor for QC School of Event Planning.
What budget range do you cater to?
I have worked with all sorts of budgets but, of course, I prefer larger ones as I can really get my creative juices flowing.
What typically happens at the beginning of the process when someone contacts you?
When a potential client contacts me, I always ask a few questions to see if we would be a good fit…no need in wasting anyone’s time if I sense that our working together would be a struggle. Then, I propose that we meet so that I can hear all about their plans and dreams and how I can be of service. I always listen very carefully and ask lots of questions so that I can get a good idea of their expectations. I also bring along information sheets in my collections to see what kind of services would best suit their needs. When they decide to hire me, I meet with them again to sign a letter of agreement and then we get started on the planning process.
I cannot say enough great things about Alexandra. Neither my husband nor I were very good at planning, and without Alexandra, we could not have pulled off such an event. Our wedding was totally stress-free, extremely organized and everything went perfectly. My husband and I were able to totally enjoy ourselves with our guests and not think about any details on the day of because we knew that everything was being handled professionally. Alexandra has a lot of experience in the wedding industry. She is very knowledgeable about vendors and everyone that she recommended to us, including our venue, was fantastic. Compared to other wedding planning services out there Alexandra was the most reasonably priced. She is passionate about weddings and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. Thank you, Alexandra, for being an integral part of our special day!

I was originally not planning to hire a wedding coordinator due to the cost. However, in hindsight, I can’t imagine how we would have gotten through our wedding day without Alexandra! Not only did she help us save money by giving us great ideas and tips (she knows her stuff and definitely has experience planning weddings!), but she arranged discounts for us through some of our vendors.
In addition, Alexandra, without a doubt, went above and beyond just the “Day of Coordination” services that we purchased. She met with us several times in advance of our wedding, made countless calls and emails to vendors, ran errands the week leading up to the ceremony, attended and coordinated our rehearsal the day before the wedding and was at our wedding from the crack of dawn until the venue closed the dance hall at 2.30 am — she totally exceeded our expectations!!
Alexandra was extremely responsive to our calls and emails, always kept us in the loop, was proactive and oftentimes called US to remind us of things we needed to do or be aware of. My husband and I didn’t have a single complaint and she will be highly recommended to all of our newly engaged friends. She was professional, lovely to work with and it was great to have her at our wedding – it felt like we had another friend there to celebrate our day with us!
Alexandra is a highly professional event planner. She has a good knowledge base for event planning and a wide range of contacts/vendors, many of which she has arranged discounts for her clients. Alexandra’s enthusiasm and energy is priceless…she truly loves her career, treating each event as if it is her main priority, even though she arranges more than one event at a time.
I changed my mind regarding venue, colour schemes, and themes several times before deciding on my ‘perfect’ wedding; Alexandra’s tolerance and quick adaptation to each new idea was greatly appreciated, and she dealt with each new change with as much enthusiasm as the ones before.
My perfect day was a backyard vintage wedding. Alexandra managed to provide a beautifully decorated ceremony venue, then turn it into a stunning reception venue with ease, and with nothing lacking from a ‘paid for’ venue. My backyard wedding was stunningly beautiful, better than any indoor venue that I can think of. Alexandra devised a backup plan in case of rain and sorted everything (décor, vendors, timing, setting up the buffet etc.) so I did not have to worry about a thing.
I could not have pulled off such an amazing day without Alexandra, and would not have wanted to. She is very easy to get along with and replies to her voicemails promptly. I think Alexandra’s biggest compliment was from my guests. Many of my friends thought having an event planner was unnecessary and a little ostentatious, however, by the end of the day many of my guests commented on how nice and friendly Alexandra was, what a ‘workhorse’ she was and how they had come to realize what a pivotal role she had in creating such a wonderful day. I would not hesitate to recommend Alexandra as an event planner. Prompt, organized, friendly, creative… she is the whole package.
